A meeting of two worlds, painting and photography, or ‘Kolabo’.
The project, carried out in the 6th Floor Theater building, was an invitation to a world full of empathy, sensitivity, and emotion. It showed that extreme techniques of artistic expression can be very consistent with each other.
The photographs displayed during “Kolabo” are mainly selected works from the “Desolate Beauty” project, which combines seemingly contradictory beauty and abandonment (and sometimes even destruction and decay). Beauty is represented by stunning women (and occasionally men), while abandonment describes the physical state of the places where the artist invites and captures the protagonists of his stories. The women are dressed in beautiful gowns or naked—yet they are always beautiful.
The exquisite paintings are the work of Sabina Maria, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Her works most often depict a melancholic vision of the world, which exudes peace, harmony, and sensitivity.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Barbara Debuth for her professional organization of the exhibition and to Iwona Kowalczyk from Teatr 6. piętro for her endless supply of positive energy, which made it possible for this project to be realized in such a unique place.
The exhibition was co-organized by Galeria Sopra.
The exhibition was open from January 8 to February 9, 2025.
In addition, some of the works from “Kolabo” were available for auction on ArtInfo.pl – please visit the subpage with a summary of the auction.
